MATTIA MORENI (1920_1999)
Considered among the greatest artists of the 1900s.
He becomes part of the "Group of the Eight" (together with Afro Basaldella, Renato Birolli, Antonio Corpora, Ennio Morlotti, Giuseppe Santomaso, Giulio Turcato and Emilio Vedova) which aims to overcome the rift that occurred in 1950 between realists and abstractionists with the end of the experience of the "New Front of the Arts".
In about ten years Moreni is considered among the youngest protagonists of the European Informal; international critics compare him to De Kooning, Bacon on one side and Riopelle, Mathieu, Jorn on the other. International acknowledgments followed and again participation in the Sao Paulo Biennial in Brazil ('53) and Documenta in Kassel ('55, '59).
Participates in the Venice Biennale 5 times.
